Happy Memorial Day, Florida State fans. As you take the day off to remember those who served or to spend time with your families, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State is the ACC champion for a second straight season and its backstop is a big reason why.

Junior catcher Cal Raleigh was named the MVP of the ACC Tournament. Over four games, Raleigh hit .333 with a home run and six RBIs and with four extra base hits. Raleigh got the scoring started on Sunday with a 2-run double in the first inning of FSU’s 11-8 win over Louisville for the ACC Championship.

Also making the All-ACC Tournament team for the Seminoles were third baseman Drew Mendoza, outfielder Jackson Lueck and pitcher Drew Parrish. FSU became the first team to win back-to-back ACC crowns since Wake Forest in 1998 and 1999.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball’s 10-inning ACC Championship victory over Louisville was the only scheduled athletic event for Sunday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

Florida State baseball received a No. 7 national seed for the NCAA tournament. Their regional opponents were also revealed.

College baseball polls will be released on Monday.
