The Daily Nole — April 8, 2017: Spring Game Rosters Set

It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As you wrap up your weekend, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The Garnet will wear all garnet and the gold will wear all white for next week’s Florida State spring game, but we now know who will be wearing what uniforms. The rosters for next Saturday’s annual spring game were unveiled on Saturday.

The Garnet roster will feature running back Cam Akers, defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas and cornerback Levonta Taylor. Bailey Hockman is expected to quarterback the Garnet team.

Headlining the Gold team will be quarterback James Blackman, running back Jacques Patrick and defensive end Brian Burns. Next week’s intrasquad contest begins at 6 p.m. EST.

Between the Lines

FSU beach volleyball’s scheduled contests with UAB and Georgia State were canceled to weather. FSU baseball fell to Georgia Tech on Saturday, 2-1.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s tennis will host Boston College on Sunday while the men visit Virginia. FSU softball wraps up a 3-game series against Pittsburgh at noon EST. FSU baseball finishes a 3-game set with Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. EST. Both games will air on ACC Network Extra.

FSU baseball was handily defeated by Georgia Tech on Sunday, 16-3.
