Lead Story

Florida State came up one win shy of cutting down the nets in Los Angeles, but a pair of Seminoles were named to the NCAA Tournament’s All-West Region team for their performances over four games.

Senior forward Phil Cofer and junior guard Terance Mann each earned that distinction as the Seminoles reached the Elite Eight for the first time in 25 years. Cofer averaged 10.5 points and five rebounds over the four games. Mann averaged 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 14-for-21.

Also making the regional team were Michigan’s Charles Matthews, Moritz Wagner and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman. The Wolverines defeated the Seminoles on Saturday night, 58-54, to advance to the Final Four.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

FSU baseball takes on Florida in Jacksonville on Tuesday. The contest begins at 6 p.m. EST and airs on SEC Network+.

Pitcher Andrew Karp will start for Florida State on Tuesday night.

FSU guard Cole Minshew suffered a lower leg injury in spring practice.

FSU outfielder J.C. Flowers is out 6-8 weeks with a broken jaw that will require surgery.

FSU guard C.J. Walker will transfer, according to a report.

Florida defeat FSU baseball for a 12th time in 13 tries on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, 1-0.
