It appears as though forward Phil Cofer and guard Braian Angola may not be the only starters that Florida State will have to replace next season.

According to a report from 247Sports, C.J. Walker will transfer. Walker started 34 of FSU’s 35 games as a sophomore this past season.

Walker averaged eight points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Seminoles this season. Walker scored a career-high 24 points in a win over Rutgers on Nov. 28 and came up big with three 3-pointers in the Seminoles’ Sweet 16 victory over Gonzaga last week.

His reasons for transferring are unclear at the moment. It’s possible that Trent Forrest or P.J. Savoy were going to overtake him on the depth chart and he preferred to play somewhere as a definite starter. Walker has yet to make an announcement confirming his transfer.

With Walker gone, Forrest will become the favorite to man the point guard position for the Seminoles. Forrest took on a bigger role from February on and played at least 30 minutes in each of FSU’s final eight games. Freshman Anthony Polite is another candidate to handle some point guard duties.

As a recruit, Walker was a 4-star point guard out of Arsenal Technical high school in Indianapolis. He was ranked as the No. 113 overall prospect and No. 24 point guard. Walker chose Florida State over Butler, Illinois and Purdue.
