The Daily Nole — March 28, 2018: Flowers Out 6-8 Week with Jaw Injury

Lead Story

Florida State will be without its starting center fielder for an extended period of time.

According to the program, FSU sophomore outfielder J.C. Flowers will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken jaw. Flowers suffered the injury sliding into second base on Sunday in Chapel Hill in a 9-4 win over North Carolina.

For the year, Flowers is hitting .236 with 10 RBIs. In his absence, Steven Wells started in center field on Tuesday night against Florida while Reese Albert was out in right.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball fell to Florida on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, 1-0.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

News and Notes

FSU’s Ka’Tia Seymour and Trey Cunningham were recognized as the ACC Women’s and Men’s Track Performers of the Week, while Lauri Paredes earned ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week honors.

FSU men’s tennis redshirt senior Lucas Poullain earned his second ACC Player of the Week honor this season.
