According to reports, Florida State could soon have an important skill player back in the lineup.

Jacques Patrick, a junior running back, reportedly hopes to return for next Saturday’s contest at Clemson. That would be less than three weeks after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

For the year, Patrick has 434 yards rushing and a touchdown on 76 carries. He is also averaging a team-high 5.7 yards per carry.

Between the Lines

Miami defeated FSU volleyball in straight sets on Wednesday night. FSU men’s tennis began the ITA National Fall Championship.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s tennis will continue the ITA National Fall Championship on Thursday.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops begins 18th in the AP Poll.

FSU baseball’s recruiting class was ranked fifth, according to D1Baseball.com.

FSU will make a decision next week on whether to reschedule the Sept. 9 contest with Louisiana-Monroe for Dec. 2.

FSU soccer players Deyna Castellanos and Natalia Kuikka were each named first-team All-ACC on Thursday. Gloriana Villalobos was a third-team and All-Freshman team selection.
