The Daily Nole — Oct. 3, 2017: FSU Volleyball Falls Out of Poll

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your work week chugs along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State’s football team isn’t the only FSU athletic program that is no longer ranked.

The FSU volleyball team fell out of the AVCA Poll, which was released Monday, after a 3-set loss at Louisville and a 5-set loss at Notre Dame. FSU had been the only ranked ACC team and now, there isn’t a single team from the conference in the poll.

For the year, the Seminoles are 8-4 and just 2-2 in conference play. FSU will be in action again on Wednesday against Miami.

Between the Lines

Both the FSU men’s and women’s tennis teams competed in All-American Qualifying on Monday. FSU men’s golf is in fourth place through two rounds at the Marquette Intercollegiate. The women are in 10th place through two rounds of the 3M Annika Invitational.

On the Agenda

The FSU’s men’s and women’s tennis teams will continue All-American Qualifying on Tuesday. Both the FSU men’s and women’s golf teams will wrap up their respective tournaments.

News and Notes

FSU tackle Derrick Kelly returned to practice on Monday and is expected to play Saturday against Miami, according to reports.
