The Daily Nole — Oct. 2, 2017: Dalvin Cook Tears ACL

Lead Story

Florida State’s all-time leading rusher will play just four games in his rookie season in the NFL.

According to reports, Minnesota Vikings’ running back Dalvin Cook suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Sunday’s 14-7 loss to the Detroit Lions. Cook’s injury came in the third quarter and was of the non-contact variety.

After being drafted in the second round by the Vikings, Cook had been off to a splendid start in the NFL. Cook had rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries Sunday before the injury and currently ranks third in the NFL in rushing yards.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis finished the Bedford Cup and began the All-American Pre-Qualifying/Qualifying. The men participated in the All American Pre-Qualifying/Qualifying as well. FSU volleyball fell at Notre Dame in five sets. FSU women’s golf is in eighth place after one round of the 3M Annika Invitational. The men are in ninth at the Marquette Intercollegiate.

On the Agenda

Both the FSU men’s and women’s tennis teams will continue the All-American Pre-Qualifying/Qualifying. Both the FSU men’s and women’s golf teams will continue their respective tournaments.

News and Notes

The Oct. 14 contest between Florid State and Duke will be played either and noon or 3:30 p.m. EST.

FSU kicker Ricky Aguayo was named ACC Specialist of the Week after making four field goals in Saturday’s win over Wake Forest.
