Happy hump day, Florida State fans. That means we’re one day closer to the rivalry showdown between FSU and Miami. As the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics as we update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Former Florida State running back and the school’s second all-time leader rusher, Warrick Dunn, has long been in the FSU athletic Hall of Fame, but Dunn earned another honor that was announced on Tuesday.

Dunn will be added to the Atlanta Falcons’ ring of honor. After playing at FSU from 1993-96, Dunn spent 12 years in the NFL, including six with the Falcons. Dunn made three Pro Bowls, including with the Falcons during his career-year of 2005.

Dunn’s elusiveness and versatility have long been recognized, but so has his charity work. Dunn’s mother was a Baton Rouge police officer in Louisiana, who was gunned down in the line of duty. In memory of her, Dunn started a charity which gives down payments for homes to single mothers. He’s helped over 150 mothers since the Warrick Dunn Foundation was founded about 20 years ago.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s and women’s tennis continued All-American Qualifying on Tuesday. FSU men’s golfer Harris Ellis won the Marquette Intercollegiate while the Seminoles finished fourth as a team. The women’s team finished 10th in the 3M Annika Invitational.

On the Agenda

The FSU women’s tennis team will continue All-American Qualifying on Wednesday. FSU volleyball will host Miami in a match that begins at 6:30 p.m. EST and airs on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

Head coach Jimbo Fisher will address the media during Wednesday’s ACC teleconference.
