Florida State’s softball season may have ended sooner than expected, but the individual accolades continue to roll in.
First baseman Alex Powers was named the winner of the Senior CLASS Award on Wednesday, which recognizes achievement both on the field and off. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
Powers has been an intricate part of the FSU lineup over her time in Tallahassee. Powers was named the 2016 ACC Player of the Year. This past season, she hit .360 with 10 home runs and 51 RBIs.

Bovada has given FSU 16-to-1 odds of winning the College World Series.
Four FSU softball players were named NFCA All-Americans. Jessie Warren and Jessica Burroughs each garnered first-team honors. Outfielder Morgan Klaevemann was a second-team selection and first baseman Alex Powers made the third team.
FSU’s Sept. 9 football contest with Louisiana-Monroe will begin at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network. The Oct. 27 match-up at Boston College will air on ESPN at 8 p.m. EST.
Drew Parrish will start for FSU against Tennessee Tech on Friday.
Former FSU cornerback Terrell Buckley is among 75 candidates for the College Football Hall of Fame.
Florida State pitcher Tyler Holton has been recognized as a second-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
