The Daily Nole — May 31, 2017: Academic Year Winds Down for Final Two FSU Teams

Happy hump day, Florida State fans. It looks to be a quiet one, but keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

With the 2017-18 academic year winding down, all but two Florida State programs have seen their seasons end. The two remaining? Baseball and track and field.

FSU baseball notched a seventh ACC crown over the weekend and will host the regional round of the NCAA Tournament, beginning with Tennessee Tech on Friday. The regional round is double-elimination.

FSU track and field will continue its season with the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon from June 8-10. The USATF Junior National Championships and National Championships take place from June 22-25.

Over the last couple weeks, both the FSU men’s and women’s golf team as well as FSU softball have seen their seasons end.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

Former FSU guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers.

FSU softball first baseman Alex Powers has been named the winner of the Senior CLASS Award.
