Florida State learned last week that its 2017 opener and ACC opener would be held in prime time. On Wednesday, it learned that its 2017 home opener will also come in the evening.

Florida State’s Sept. 9 contest with Louisiana-Monroe will air at 7 p.m. EST and be shown on the ACC Network, according to a release from the conference. That is not the same as ACC Network Extra, which is an internet stream only. The ACC Network consists of regional stations such as FOX Sports Sun and FOX Sports Florida in the Sunshine State.

The contest between the Seminoles and the Warhawks will be just the second between the schools. FSU won the 2011 season-opener in the only previous meeting by a score of 34-0.

In home openers under head coach Jimbo Fisher, FSU is a perfect 7-0. The Seminoles defeated Charleston Southern last season, 52-8. Louisiana-Monroe finished just 4-8 last season and 3-5 in the Sun Belt, but has wins over Alabama and Arkansas since 2007.

The ACC also announced that FSU’s Oct. 27 contest at Boston College will air at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN. This will be the third straight year that the teams have met on a Friday night.

The Seminoles won 45-7 last season in Tallahassee and 14-0 in their previous visit to Chestnut Hill. The Eagles are one of only two teams the Seminoles have defeated every year under Fisher. The last BC win in the series came in 2009 by a 28-21 score.

So far, game times have been set for four of the Seminoles’ 12 regular season contests. All four are set to kick off in the evening.
