It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As your day goes on and the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Former Florida State softball third baseman Jessie Warren is on the cusp of another piece of hardware for 2018.

Warren’s incredible diving catch that turned into a double play is among four finalists for the ESPY Award for Top Play. Warren’s catch came on a bunt attempt on June 3 to help preserve a 1-0 win over Washington in the national championship series of the Women’s College World Series. The Seminoles would clinch the national championship with an 8-3 win one night later.

Warren is pitted against winning shots from Blake Peterson of Evanston and Notre Dame women’s hoops’ Arike Ogunbawale and the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl touchdown. The winner will be announced on Wednesday. Click here to vote.
