Florida State basketball will head south for the holidays, but just slightly.

The Seminoles are among eight teams that will take part in the 2018 Advocare Invitational at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort. FSU will open the tournament at 9:30 p.m. EST on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 22, against UAB.

Joining the Seminoles and Blazers on one side of the bracket will be College of Charleston and LSU. On the other side of the bracket is Caninsius, Oklahoma State, Memphis and defending national champion Villanova. Teams will play games on Nov. 22, Nov. 23 and Nov. 25.

FSU is 3-0 all-time against UAB, winning the last contest in Daytona Beach in November 2007 by a 78-70 score. FSU won the Advocare Invitational in 2009 when it was called the Old Spice Classic by defeating Iona, Alabama and Marquette.

In a non-bracketed game, FSU faces Canisius on Nov. 19. All bracketed games of the Advocare Invitational will air on ESPN’s family of networks.
