It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As your work week ends and your weekend begins, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State soccer wrapped up its regular season on Thursday night with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Miami in overtime.

Mallory Olsson scored the game-winner about six minutes into the overtime period to break a scoreless tie. It was the only shot attempt of the game for the Hurricanes. With the loss, FSU finishes the regular season with a record of 12-4-2 and 5-4-1 in ACC play.

After ascending to as high as No. 2 in the national polls, FSU will settle for the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and will face second-seeded Duke on Sunday in Durham. The contest will begin at 1 p.m. EST and air on ACC Network Extra.

Florida State would have been the No. 5 seed with a victory on Thursday night. The Seminoles won the ACC as the No. 6 seed in the tournament two years ago and that run started with a win over Duke. The teams did not meet during the regular season.
