Lead Story

We’re less than two weeks from the start of basketball season, but No. 17 Florida State had no trouble with West Florida in the first of two exhibitions on Friday night.

The Seminoles cruised to a 96-56 victory on Friday night while shooting 56 percent from the field and draining 11 3-pointers. Christ Koumadje paced FSU with 20 points in the contest. P.J. Savoy added 16 points while freshman Devin Vassell and M.J. Walker finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

FSU plays its final exhibition on Thursday against Valdosta State. The regular season begins Nov. 6 against rival Florida.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s cross country finished fourth at the ACC Championships on Friday while the men finished seventh. FSU’s women’s swimming and diving team topped Arizona State while the men fell to the Sun Devils.

On the Agenda

FSU football will host No. 2 Clemson on Saturday. The contest begins at noon EST and airs on ABC.

News and Notes

FSU split an exhibition doubleheader with Alabama on Friday.

FSU was defeated by No. @ Clemson on Saturday, 59-10.
