It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As your work week ends and the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

One Florida State starter along the offensive line hasn’t been seen in recent days, but that doesn’t look to be a huge concern.

According to a report from Noles247, guard Cole Minshew wasn’t seen during FSU’s recent trip to IMG Academy. Head coach Willie Taggart told Noles247 that Minshew is nursing an ankle injury and isn’t expected to miss the Sept. 3 opener against Virginia Tech.

A redshirt junior, Minshew started all 13 games at right guard last season and has been running with the first team in practice. One of the more experienced players up front, Minshew has 19 career starts to his name.

Between the Lines

FSU soccer opened the 2018 season with a 1-0 win over Vanderbilt on Thursday night.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

FSU volleyball will host South Alabama in a scrimmage on Friday night.
