The Daily Nole — May 24, 2018: APR Rises for FSU Football

Lead Story

As reported by the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida State football’s academic progress rate increased during the 2016-17 academic year. The APR increased significantly from 918 during the 2015-16 year to 966.

The 4-year average for the Seminoles rose slightly from 939 to 941. An average of 930 is required for teams to participate in postseason.

Despite the increase, FSU’s rate is still the lowest among Power 5 programs and the lowest among programs at Florida State. The 966 score however, is the highest since posting a 971 during the 2010-11 academic year, according to the report from the Tallahassee Democrat.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.
