Florida State football was the focus of our latest poll. On Tuesday, we asked our Twitter followers which FSU player they thought would lead the team in receiving this season.

Our followers expect an awakening from the younger receivers on the roster. Sophomore D.J. Matthews topped the poll with 39 percent of the vote, edging out redshirt freshman Tamorrion Terry, who got 36 percent.

Matthews came on late for Florida State last season, both as a receiver and punt returner. Both he and Terry had excellent showings during the spring. Terry finished with five catches for a game-high 129 yards and a touchdown in the spring game. Matthews finished with 105 yards receiving on six catches.

Last season’s leading receiver, Nyqwan Murray, finished third on the list with 24 percent of the vote. Murray finished last season with 604 yards receiving, but had his spring shortened by injury.

Keith Gavin, a 6-foot-3 junior, got just 1 percent of the vote. Gavin finished with 26 catches for 265 yards last season. Gavin didn’t have a great spring game, but did throw a touchdown for the Gold team.

Wednesday’s poll asks which FSU program will be the next to win a national championship.
