Florida State softball seniors Kylee Hanson and Jessie Warren hadn’t finished playing in their final home game when they learned where the next stop in their softball journeys would be.
Both Hanson, a pitcher, and Warren, a third baseman, were taken in the top 10 of Monday night’s National Pro Fastpitch Draft. Hanson went fifth overall in the first round to the Cleveland Comets while Warren was selected seventh overall as the first pick in the second round by the USSSA Pride.
On Monday night in a 3-1 win over Louisville on Monday, both played a key role. Hanson picked up the win from the circle while Warren got the scoring started for FSU with a solo home run.
For the season, Hanson is 23-3 with an 0.90 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 147 innings. Warren is hitting .370 with team-highs of 12 home runs and 44 RBIs.

FSU softball defeated Louisville, 3-1, on Monday night. FSU women’s golf finished second at the ACC Tournament.
On the Agenda
FSU baseball will be at Stetson on Wednesday. The contest begins at 5 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN3.

FSU men’s track and field climbed to No. 7 in this week’s USTFCCCA Poll. The FSU women remained at No. 20.
Stetson defeated Florida State on Tuesday night in DeLand, 5-3.
