FSU Women’s Golf Holds on For Second-Place Finish at ACC Tournament

The ACC Women’s Golf Tournament was dominated by Duke, but the Blue Devils were the only team in Greensboro to perform better than Florida State.

The Seminoles finished 27 strokes back of conference champion Duke, but that was good enough for second place. FSU finished at +12 for the ACC Tournament — one stroke better than third-place Clemson.

The individual leaderboard was also dominated by Duke as Leona Maguire and Jaravee Boonchant finished as co-champions for the Blue Devils at -6. FSU’s Morgane Metraux was four strokes off the pace at -2 to finish tied for third place. Amanda Doherty, who shot an even par for the Seminoles, finished in a tie for fifth place.

Behind Duke, FSU and Clemson was Virginia, which was a distant fourth at +21. Wake Forest rounded out the top 5, followed by Miami and Louisville. North Carolina and NC State finished tied for eight in front of 10th-place Notre Dame. Virginia Tech finished in 11th place at +35, which was 23 strokes better than 12th-place Boston College.

Up next for FSU is the NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles will learn where they’re headed during Wednesday’s NCAA Selection Show.
