Lead Story

Florida State has just one basketball commitment for 2018, but that commit is making a name for himself at the high school level.

Guard Devin Vassell, a 3-star guard out of Suwanee, Georgia, was named the state’s AAAAAA Player of the Year. Vassell committed to FSU in May and signed in November.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Vassell is the No. 179 overall prospect for 2018 and the 39th best shooting guard. The Seminoles may have a small class as they’re set to lose just two scholarship seniors in Phil Cofer and Braian Angola.
