Another preseason poll, another top 5 start for Florida State.

The Seminoles found themselves ranked fourth in the NCBWA Poll, which was released on Tuesday. FSU was previously ranked fifth by Collegiate Baseball and D1Baseball.com and third by Baseball America.

Topping the poll was rival and No. 1 Florida, followed by Oregon State and Texas Tech. TCU was a spot behind Florida State to round out the top 5.

With most of the arms returning and a lineup that will include Jackson Lueck, Drew Mendoza, Cal Raleigh and Rhett Aplin, the Seminoles will look to return to the College World Series after making a first appearance in Omaha last season since 2012. All-American Tyler Holton is expected to lead a pitching staff that include Cole Sands, Drew Parrish and Andrew Karp.

Earlier in the day, FSU was picked by the ACC’s coaches to win the conference. The Seminoles open the season at home against Xavier one week from Friday.
