It’s National Signing Day, Florida State fans. As you settle in for a day of excitement, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

It’s the biggest day in collegiate recruiting as football teams will try to make a final push for those coveted prospects.

Entering the day, Florida State was ranked No. 14 as a team, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Under new head coach Willie Taggart, FSU looks to continue its tradition of finishing strong.

Players set to consider FSU on Wednesday were 3-star running back Anthony Grant, 4-star quarterback James Foster, 4-star defensive end Malcolm Lamar, 4-star athlete Tre’Shaun Harrison, 3-star wide receiver Jordan Young, 3-star linebacker James Miller and 3-star defensive end Jamarcus Chatman.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s tennis will participate in the National Team Indoors in Wisconsin on Wednesday. FSU basketball hosts Virginia in a contest that begins at 7 p.m. EST and airs on ACC Network.

News and Notes

Florida State’s Guy Iradukunda has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, and teammates Terrance Whitehurst and Terrell Whitehurst have been named the ACC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week.

FSU women’s tennis’ Andrea Garcia has been named the Player of the Week, and fellow Seminole Petra Hule has been tabbed as the Freshman of the Week.

FSU softball was picked to win the ACC on Tuesday.

FSU has flipped 3-star running back Anthony Grant from Tennessee.

4-star defensive end Malcolm Lamar has committed to Florida State.

All 21 of FSU’s commitments for 2018 signed on Wednesday.

FSU 4-star athlete Tre’Shaun Harrison, out of Seattle, on Wednesday.

3-star defensive tackle Jamarcus Chatman has committed to Florida State.

Wide receiver Jordan Young, a 3-star prospect, has flipped from Tennessee to Florida State.

FSU basketball was defeated by Virginia on Wednesday night, 59-55.
