Yet, another defensive coordinator candidate has emerged for Florida State.

According to USA Today’s Dan Wolken, the Seminoles and new head coach Willie Taggart are in discussion with Michigan State defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett. A Michigan State alum, Barnett has been in East Lansing as an assistant since 2007 and as coordinator since 2015.

Barnett played seven years in the NFL before going into coaching. His previous stops as an assistant also include Princeton, LSU and Cincinnati. The Spartans were ninth in total defense and 23rd in scoring defense this past season.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball defeated No. 12 North Carolina on Wednesday night, 81-80.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s basketball will be at Clemson on Thursday night. The contest begins at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

According to Pro Football Focus, Florida State led the publication’s All-Pro team with three selections.

Michigan running game coordinator Grey Frey will become the offensive line coach at Florida State.

Josh Sweat has made it official and declared for the NFL draft. The junior defensive end accumulated 138 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks during his time in Tallahassee.
