TALLAHASSEE — Two Oregon assistant coaches have officially joined Florida State head coach Willie Taggart’s inaugural FSU staff. Former Ducks running backs coach Donte’ Pimpleton and outside linebackers/special teams coordinator Raymond Woodie were announced on Wednesday, according to a release from Seminoles.com.

The two coached alongside Taggart at each of his three previous stops: Western Kentucky, South Florida and Oregon.

Pimpleton will continue to coach running backs, while Woodie will coach linebackers — a slight change from his previous role at Oregon. It is unclear whether or not Woodie will coach special teams.

Oregon’s rushing attack under Pimpleton was one of the best in the nation. The Ducks ranked second in the Pac-12 and 13th in the NCAA with an average of 251 rushing yards per game.

“I am thrilled to join Coach Taggart’s staff at Florida State,” Pimpleton said in a release. “In high school, I was a huge fan of Charlie Ward and cheered for the Seminoles, so this is a fantastic opportunity professionally and personally.”

Pimpleton and Woodie are among three Oregon assistants to join Taggart’s staff in Tallahassee. On Jan. 1, it was announced that renowned recruiter David Kelly would be joining the FSU staff.

Woodie’s arrival gives yet another boost to FSU’s already strengthened recruiting staff. In 2014, he was named the AAC’s top recruiter by Rivals and the Sun Belt’s Recruiter of the Year by Fox Sports in 2012.
