The preseason USA Today Coaches Poll was released on Thursday and Florida State basketball managed just a single vote.
The Seminoles are coming off a 26-9 season and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2012, but will be replacing their top three scorers, including two NBA draft picks. FSU hasn’t been ranked in the preseason Coaches Poll since the start of the 2012-13 season when it started 24th.
Duke topped the poll Thursday, followed by Michigan State, Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona. Other ACC schools included in the poll were North Carolina at No. 9, Miami at No. 12, Notre Dame at No. 14 and Louisville at No. 16.
Between the Lines
FSU women’s tennis competed in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Thursday. FSU basketball held its Garnet and Gold scrimmage. FSU soccer fell to Notre Dame, 4-3.
On the Agenda
FSU men’s golf will begin the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Championship on Friday. FSU volleyball will host Notre Dame in a match that begins at 6:30 p.m. EST and airs on ACC Network Extra. FSU women’s tennis resumes the ITA Southeast Regional Championships.

FSU wide receivers George Campbell and Keith Gavin are out for Saturday’s contest against Louisville.
The ACC will extend its women’s basketball conference schedule to 18 games.
