Florida State’s women’s basketball team has been picked to finish fourth in the ACC this upcoming season by both the ACC Coaches and the media on Thursday.

Both the coaches and media had Notre Dame winning the conference, followed by Louisville, Duke and Florida State. The Seminoles did receive 10 first-place votes from the media and three from the conference’s coaches.

FSU is coming off a second Elite Eight appearance in three years, but are losing key contributors in Leticia Romero, Ivey Slaughter and Brittany Brown. The Seminoles do return leading scorer Shakayla Thomas, center Chatrice White and bring in talented TCU transfer A.J. Alix.

Thomas was the lone FSU player to be named to the All-ACC preseason team on Thursday. Thomas averaged nearly 15 points and six rebounds en route to being named ACC Player of the Year.

Duke senior guard Lexie Brown was picked by the media to win that honor this upcoming season. Louisville guard Asia Durr was selected by the coaches.
