Florida State fell to 0-2 on Saturday with a 27-21 loss to North Carolina State at home, but that wasn’t the only big loss for the Seminoles.
Early in the third quarter, junior wide receiver Auden Tate injured his arm and did not return. Up until that point, Tate had been unstoppable with nine catches for 138 yards and FSU’s only touchdown, accounting for 73 percent of FSU’s receiving yardage at that point.
Tate was seen wearing a sling after the game, but the extent of his injury to this point is unknown. Tate is FSU’s leading receiver so far this year with 179 yards receiving. He also has both of the Seminoles’ touchdowns this season.
Between the Lines
FSU football was defeated by N.C. State on Saturday, 27-21. FSU men’s tennis competed in the University of Alabama Tournament while the women partook in the Debbie Southern Fall Classic. FSU women’s cross country finished fourth at the Mountain Dew Invitational. FSU women’s golf is in 10th place after one round at the Schooner Fall Classic.
On the Agenda
The FSU men’s and women’s tennis teams will finish their respective tournaments on Sunday as will FSU women’s golf. FSU soccer visits Virginia Tech while FSU volleyball hosts Virginia Tech. Both of those matches begin at 1 p.m. EST and will air on ACC Network Extra.

FSU men’s tennis redshirt senior Jose Gracia and freshman Chase Wood took home first place in the Houndstooth doubles bracket in Tuscaloosa on Saturday.
The AP and Amway Coaches Polls will be released on Sunday.
