The 3-week wait is officially over as Florida State is set to host North Carolina State at noon EST. The Seminoles will look to pick up their first win of the season in what will serve as both their home and ACC opener.

Complications from Hurricane Irma forced FSU to cancel its home opener two weeks ago and postpone last week’s ACC opener with Miami until Oct. 7. With kickoff just hours away, here’s some links from The Daily Nole that you might find useful prior to watching the match-up:

In what will be our final piece on the match-up prior to kickoff (barring any major unforeseen circumstances), we give you some quick facts regarding the match-up. We also try to bring a historical perspective on what’s at stake:

  • North Carolina State has not defeated Florida State in Tallahassee since 2005. The Wolfpack won that day by a score of 20-15.
  • Florida State has won seven straight home openers and 26 of 27 overall. The lone blemish came on Labor Day against Miami in 2009.
  • Since FSU joined the ACC in 1992, N.C. State has the second-most conference wins over the Seminoles with seven. Only Clemson has more with eight.
  • FSU hasn’t lost consecutive ACC openers since 2008 and 2009. FSU was throttled by Louisville in last year’s conference opener, 63-20.
  • In 2001, N.C. State became the first ACC foe to defeat Florida State in Tallahassee.
  • FSU and N.C. State have combined for at least 80 points in five of the last 22 match-ups. The last time it occurred was 2014 when FSU won 56-41 in Raleigh.
  • N.C. State is 0-4 against FSU under head coach Dave Doeren, although the Wolfpack held double-digit leads in three of those contests.
  • Florida State will try to avoid its first 0-2 start since 1989.
  • The only other time that FSU and N.C. State opened ACC play against one another was 1998 in Raleigh. The Wolfpack upset No. 2 FSU, 24-7.
  • FSU is 12-7 all-time while ranked when facing an unranked N.C. State team.
  • FSU will look to avoid losing consecutive games for the first time since 2011 when it lost three in a row to Oklahoma, Clemson and Wake Forest.
  • Since the ACC went to divisions in 2005, FSU has lost to N.C. State four times. In three of those season, it still went on to win the ACC Atlantic.
  • FSU’s 23-13 victory over N.C. State in 1953 served as its first ever over an ACC school. FSU didn’t join the conference until 39 years later.
  • Since 2007, N.C. State has lost four times when scoring at least 40 points. Two of those losses were to FSU (2009 and 2014). The other two were to Clemson.
