The Daily Nole — Sept. 25, 2017: Krikorian Wins No. 400

It’s Monday, Florida State fans. As you get back to the old grind, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics as we update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State head soccer coach Mark Krikorian became one of just eight Division I women’s soccer coaches ever to reach 400 wins. Krikorian accomplished that feat on Sunday as FSU soccer took down Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, 2-0.

For the second straight match, Dallas Dorosy and Deyna Castellanos each found the net for the Seminoles. Both goals came in the second half and Castellanos added an assist.

With the win, FSU improves to 7-2 on the year and 2-1 in ACC play. Up next for the Seminoles will be a home contest with N.C. State on Friday night.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU soccer, FSU volleyball took down Virginia Tech in four sets at home on Sunday. FSU women’s golf is in a tie for sixth place after two rounds at the Schooner Fall Classic in Oklahoma. FSU men’s tennis wrapped up the University of Alabama Tournament on Sunday. The women closed things out in Greenville at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis will partake in the $25,000ITF on Monday.

News and Notes

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports on Monday.

The Oct. 7 contest between Miami and FSU will begin at 3:30 p.m. EST and will air on ABC or ESPN2.
