The Daily Nole — June 16, 2017: Three FSU Golfers Earn All-American Honors

It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As you prepare for the weekend and of course, the College World Series, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We will update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Golfweek Magazine named three Florida State golfers — one man and two women — to its All-American team on Thursday.

On the men’s side, Cristobal Del Solar earned third-team honors. Del Solar helped the Seminoles reach the NCAA Championships for a second straight year this past season, finishing tied for 14th place.

On the women’s side, both Matilda Catren and Morgane Metraux earned third-team honors from Golfweek. The two helped FSU finish second in the ACC Tournament before reaching the NCAA Championships. There, the Seminoles finished in 20th place.

News and Notes

FSU has arrived in Omaha for the College World Series.

4-star defensive tackle Alim McNeill narrowed his list of schools down to six. FSU made the cut along with Duke, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Penn State.

Florida State’s 2017 volleyball schedule was released on Friday.
