It’s a big week for Florida State sophomore pitcher Tyler Holton. The lefty was named a third-team All-American by NCBWA on Wednesday, just hours before being selected in the 35th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft by the Miami Marlins.

On Thursday, Holton added a new milestone — first-team All-American. With one second-team and two third-team selections to his name, Holton was named to D1Baseball.com’s first team.

As the Saturday pitcher for the Seminoles this season, Holton has been nothing short of fantastic. For the year, the left-hander is 10-2 with a 2.25 ERA while striking out 139 batters in 112 innings. Holton has also held opponents to a .171 average against him.

The sophomore’s big week will continue on Saturday as Holton becomes the first FSU pitcher in five years to start a College World Series game. The Seminoles will be taking on LSU.
