It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As your weekend winds down, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Just days after upsetting No. 1 Florida, Florida State softball found itself in another top 5 match-up against Oregon on Saturday. Things however, didn’t go as well for the Seminoles as they were swept by the Ducks in a doubleheader by scores of 11-0 and 3-1.

The first game lasted just five innings as Oregon put up five runs in both the third and fourth innings. Florida State led 1-0 for the majority of the second game before the Ducks broke through with three runs in the sixth. Carsyn Gordon drove in the only FSU run over the two games. Meghan King and Jessica Burroughs each took losses.

The teams will wrap up the 3-game series on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on the Pac-12 Network. It will be the Seminoles’ final game of the regular season.

Between the Lines

In addition to softball, FSU baseball swept Pacific in a doubleheader, winning by scores of 18-5 and 5-3. FSU beach volleyball’s season ended with a 3-2 loss to Hawaii at the NCAA Tournament. FSU had previously eliminated UCLA, 3-1.
