The Daily Nole — May 6, 2017: Kevin Knox to Make Decision

Tampa Catholic High School star Kevin Knox is expected to make his decision on Saturday evening as to which college he will attend.

The 6-8 forward is the No. 10 player in the country and the No. 2 small forward, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The 5-star prospect is expected to choose between Florida State, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina and Missouri.

Knox is the son of former FSU wide receiver Kevin Knox, who helped the Seminoles win their first national championship on the gridiron in 1993. Florida State however, is thought to be Knox’s fourth option at this point.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field participated in the Seminole Twilight on Friday. At the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships, FSU overcame a loss to Hawaii to defeat South Carolina. FSU baseball defeated Pacific, 9-8.

On the Agenda

FSU baseball will play a doubleheader against Pacific with the first game beginning at 2 p.m. EST and the second one to follow shortly afterward. Both games will air on ACC Network Extra. FSU beach volleyball plays UCLA in an elimination game at the NCAA Championships at 2 p.m. EST. FSU softball will play a doubleheader at Oregon, beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST on the Pac-12 Network.

News and Notes

J.C. Flowers did not start in center field for Florida State on Friday night, making catcher Cal Raleigh the only player to start every game for the Seminoles this year.

Florida State lost a defensive end prospect for 2018 as 3-star Kayode Oladele announced his decommitment via Twitter.

FSU beach volleyball eliminated UCLA at the NCAA Championships 3-1, but lost to Hawaii later in the day, 3-2. FSU ends the season with a 29-9 record.

FSU baseball swept Pacific in a doubleheader, winning the two games, 18-5 and 5-3.
