It’s Friday, Florida State fans. For those of you finishing up your work week, we’ll try to get you through it. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Injuries were rampant for Florida State at spring practice on Thursday. Among the most notable injuries was to redshirt freshman offensive lineman Andrew Boselli, who will miss the remainder of the spring with a sprained MCL.

Boselli, the son of former All-Pro tackle Tony Boselli, was hoping to push for a starting spot either at center or guard. With incumbent center Alec Eberle out, Boselli was thought to have a shot to compete for that position along with fellow redshirt freshman Baveon Johnson and redshirt junior Corey Martinez.

Other notables to miss practice on Thursday include defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, safety Trey Marshall and wide receiver Auden Tate. FSU wraps up the spring with its spring game next Saturday.

Between the Lines

The FSU track and field team competed in the Pepsi Florida Relays on Thursday.

On the Agenda

The FSU women’s golf team will compete in the Clemson Invitational while the track and field team is at the Stanford Invitational. FSU beach volleyball will be in Miami to take on the Hurricanes and Florida International. The women’s tennis team will be at Boston College while the men visit Duke. FSU baseball and softball will both open 3-game series at 6 p.m. EST. Baseball faces North Carolina on ACC Network Extra while softball faces Pittsburgh.

News and Notes

FSU third baseman Drew Mendoza will make his highly-anticipated debut against North Carolina on Friday.

With the repeal of HB2 in the North Carolina state house, the state will again be considered for championship hosting by the ACC.

Florida State had no answer for North Carolina’s J.B. Bukauskas on Friday night in a 3-1 loss.
