The Daily Nole — March 2, 2017: White Named Sixth Player of the Year

Lead Story

For the third straight season, the ACC Sixth Player of the Year for women’s basketball will go to a member of Florida State.

Forward Chatrice White was given the honor on Wednesday by the conference. For the season, White is averaging 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. White is also shooting 51 percent from the floor.

Now a junior and former McDonald’s All-American, White is in her first season with FSU after transferring from Illinois. Shakayla Thomas, the leading scorer for FSU, won the ACC’s Sixth Player of the Year in each of the previous two seasons.

News and Notes

FSU players measured in at the NFL Combine on Wednesday.

FSU is in the top 6 for 3-star defensive end Andres Fox.

Florida State and Notre Dame will play on Nov. 10, 2018 in South Bend.

FSU added 2019 defensive tackle Lloyd Murray, Jr. on Thursday night. Murray is not rated, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, but is thought by many to be one of the top prospects in the country at his position.
