The Daily Nole — Feb. 16, 2017: Eight FSU Players to NFL Combine

Lead Story

Eight Florida State players have been invited to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, which lasts from Feb. 28 until March 6.

Those invited include running back Dalvin Cook, fullback Freddie Stevenson, receivers Travis Rudolph, Jesus Wilson and Kermit Whitfield, tackle Roderick Johnson, defensive end DeMarcus Walker and cornerback Marquez White. Of the eight, three — Cook, Rudolph and Johnson — left early to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.

The combine is a chance for players to showcase their skills for NFL scouts. The NFL Draft will be held in Philadelphia from April 27-29.

Between the Lines

The FSU swimming and diving teams continued to compete in the ACC Championships. FSU softball defeated Florida A&M 5-0 on Wednesday. Cassidy Davis pitched six shutout innings to earn the win.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving wraps up the conference championships. The FSU women’s basketball team will visit Virginia. The contest begins at 7 p.m. EST and will air on Sun Sports.
