The Daily Nole — April 3, 2019: FSU Softball’s King Named ACC Pitcher of the Week Again

Lead Story

The ACC has named a Softball Pitcher of the Week in each of the first eight weeks of the 2019 season. Florida State’s Meghan King has now won five of them.

King was named ACC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after collecting a pair of wins over the weekend against Virginia. King worked just 6.1 innings, but went 2-0 without allowing a run and striking out 10. She gave up just four hits and allowed opponents to hit just .182 over the two games.

For the season, King is 18-1 with a 1.13 ERA and 126 strikeouts in 105.1 innings. King may be in the circle Wednesday night as the Seminoles visit rival Florida.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball fell to Jacksonville in 11 innings on Tuesday night, 3-2.

On the Agenda

FSU softball will play at Florida on Wednesday night. The contest begins at 7 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN2.
