Despite being separated by less than 300 miles, Florida State and Georgia haven’t met during the regular season since 1965, but that is scheduled to change within the next decade.

The schools announced Tuesday that the teams will play a home-and-home in 2027 and 2028. The Seminoles will host the first game before heading to Sanford Stadium in 2028.

The 2027 contest at Doak Campbell Stadium takes place on Sept. 4. The Bulldogs will host FSU on Sept. 16 the following season.

Florida State and Georgia have not met since the end of the 2002 season when the Bulldogs topped a short-handed FSU squad in the Sugar Bowl, 26-13. Prior to that, the teams played to a 17-17 tie in the Citrus Bowl to cap the 1984 season.

In the last regular season meeting, FSU, under Bill Peterson, stunned No. 5 Georgia in 1965 by a 10-3 score in Tallahassee. The Bulldogs hold a 6-4-1 advantage all-time in the series, but the Seminoles are 4-1-1 in the last six.
