The Daily Nole — Nov. 24, 2021: Wildschutt Wins South Region Cross Country Athlete of the Year

Florida State cross country’s Adriaan Wildschutt has been named USTFCCCA Men’s South Region Athlete of the Year for the second time.

Wildschutt had an incredible season for the Seminoles, winning five races, which tied a 40-year-old school record. Wildschutt also became just the second FSU runner to take home the individual title at the ACC Championships.

Throughout the season, Wildschutt was named ACC Performer of the Week a program-record four times. He finished sixth at the NCAA Championships last weekend.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU volleyball will host Notre Dame on Wednesday afternoon. That contest begins at 3 p.m. ET and streams on ACC Network Extra. FSU hoops will host Boston University as part of the Jacksonville Classic. That contest begins at 7 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops remained No. 17 in the AP Poll and moved up two spots to 24th in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Florida is currently a 3-point favorite for Saturday’s contest with FSU football.
