The Daily Nole — Oct. 23, 2021: FSU Volleyball’s Poole Becomes Fastest Coach to 200 ACC Wins

Florida State volleyball head coach Chris Poole made history on Friday night, becoming the fastest coach to reach 200 ACC wins in the Seminoles’ 3-0 victory at Virginia Tech.

FSU dominated the match, finishing with a hitting percentage of .316 to just .046 for the Hokies. Morgan Chacon led the Seminoles with 11 kills and 16 digs. Caroline Golden added 11 digs in the victory.

As for Poole, it took him just 256 matches to get to 200 ACC wins. The previous record was held by Duke’s Jolene Nagel, who got there in 267 matches.

With the win, FSU moves to 13-5 overall and 6-3 in ACC play. The Seminoles will remain on the road to face Wake Forest on Sunday.

FSU’s volleyball victory was the lone scheduled athletic event for Friday.

On the Agenda

FSU football will host Massachusetts for homecoming on Saturday. The contest is set for 12 p.m. ET and will air on ACC Network. FSU swimming and diving will be at Georgia Tech.

News and Notes

FSU remains a 35.5-point favorite for Saturday’s contest against UMass.
