As your work week heads downhill, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State allowed a goal for the first time on the young season on Sunday, but stayed perfect with a 2-1 win at Colorado.

After a scoreless first half, FSU took control with goals from Kirsten Pavlisko and Gabby Carle within a 10-minute stretch in the second half. Clara Robbins and Yujie Zhao assisted for the Seminoles.

FSU finished with 15 shots to just one for the Buffaloes, but Colorado’s lone shot did find the net. Allie Palangi scored in the 71st minute to cut the lead in half, but the Buffaloes would not threaten again.

The match served as FSU’s first road contest of the season. At 4-0, the Seminoles will return home to take on rival Florida on Thursday.

Between the Lines

FSU’s soccer match in Boulder was the lone scheduled athletic event for Sunday. FSU volleyball was slated to face LSU in the Tiger Classic, but returned home early due to Hurricane Ida.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

The preseason USTFCCCA cross country poll will be released on Monday.
