The Daily Nole — May 31, 2021: FSU Men’s Golf in Position to Advance to Match Play

With just one day of stroke play left at the NCAA Championships, Florida State men’s golf is now in position to advance to match play.

The Seminoles tied Oklahoma State for the best round on Sunday and moved from 11th place to fifth. With Monday being the last day of stroke play, the top eight teams will advance to match play.

At +9, FSU will enter the day with a 4-stroke lead over North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. The Seminoles are currently five strokes better than ninth-place Pepperdine.

Pacing FSU through three days is John Pak, who is tied for 10th at -2. Vincent Norrman is tied for 16th at +1.

News and Notes

FSU softball will begin the Women’s College World Series on Thursday against UCLA. The contest will begin at 9 p.m. ET and air on ESPN.

Various polls, including for college baseball, will be released on Monday.

The NCAA Baseball Selection Show takes place on Monday.

21 total FSU track and field athletes will participate in the NCAA Outdoor Championships next week.
