The Daily Nole — June 1, 2021: FSU Baseball to Travel to Oxford for NCAA Tournament

Oxford, Miss. is the location where Florida State baseball will begin the NCAA Tournament.

On Monday, the Seminoles were awarded the No. 3 seed in the Oxford Regional. Joining FSU in Oxford will be host and No. 12 national seed Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi and Southeast Missouri State.

FSU will open the regional on Friday against No. 2 seed Southern Mississippi. The contest begins at 3 p.m. ET and will air on ESPNU. Ole Miss will take on Southeast Missouri State later that evening. The two winners and two losers will then meet on Saturday in the double-elimination regional.

For the season, FSU is 30-22. The Seminoles were expected to be a No. 2 seed in their regional. In 2019, FSU did advance to the College World Series despite not playing in Tallahassee during the NCAA Tournament.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s golf clinched a spot in match play on Sunday by finishing sixth in stroke play at the NCAA Championships.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s golf will take on Pepperdine in match play on Monday at the NCAA Championships.

News and Notes

With the recruiting dead period coming to a close, FSU football held “Midnight Madness” early on Monday.

FSU baseball fell one spot in the latest Baseball America Poll to No. 17. The Seminoles fell a spot in the NCBWA Poll to No. 25.
