Florida State basketball will unexpectedly be without a key piece next season.
On Friday, forward RaiQuan Gray announced that he would forgo his senior season and enter the NBA Draft. Gray had a breakout season for FSU, finishing with 11.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field.
Gray was a third-team All-ACC performer this season. At 6-foot-8 and 260 pounds, Gray has a unique skill set as he is quick, athletic and can handle the ball. The 2021 NBA Draft takes place on July 29.
Between the Lines
In its first ACC home game, FSU softball topped Notre Dame on Friday, 3-1. FSU volleyball wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 win over Syracuse. FSU baseball fell late to North Carolina, 4-3. Both FSU tennis teams were winners on Friday. The FSU men beat Florida Atlantic 4-3 while the women topped Virginia by the same score. FSU track and field began the Florida Pepsi Relays.
On the Agenda
FSU track and field will wrap up the Florida Pepsi Relays on Saturday. Both FSU softball and beach volleyball will play doubleheaders. FSU softball will host Notre Dame with contests set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. ET on ACC Network Extra. FSU beach volleyball will be at USC for a match-up of No. 1 vs. No. 2. FSU baseball will host North Carolina. That one begins at 2 p.m. ET and streams on ACC Network Extra.
