No. 16 Florida State basketball made a statement on Monday night. At the Donald L. Tucker Center against No. 7 Virginia, the Seminoles passed their biggest test yet with flying colors in an 81-60 victory.

After falling behind 6-2, FSU scored the game’s next 14 points and never looked back. The Seminoles led by as many as 23 in the first half. The Cavaliers were able to get that down to seven in the second half, but a 17-0 run put the contest away.

Against a stifling Virginia defense, FSU shot 50% from the field, 13-for-24 from deep and committed just five turnovers. M.J. Walker paced FSU with a game-high 17 points while RaiQuan Gray added 15 in the win. Trey Murphy III finished with 13 points to lead four Virginia players in double figures.
