The Daily Nole — Feb. 17, 2021: FSU Football to Open 2022 vs. Duquesne

Happy hump day, Florida State fans.

Florida State and LSU are set to meet Labor Day weekend in New Orleans in 2022, but that won’t be the Seminoles’ opener.

FSU will open the 2022 season at home against Duquesne, according to a release. The teams will meet on Aug. 27.

An FCS school, Duquesne has had five straight winning seasons. The Dukes haven’t suffered a losing season since 2012.

The addition of Duquesne will complete FSU’s 2022 non-conference schedule. In addition to Duquesne and LSU, FSU will wrap up the season with home games against Louisiana and Florida.

North Alabama announced that it will visit FSU in November 2023.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s golf finished fourth at the Moon Invitational on Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving will begin the ACC Championships on Wednesday.

Ryan Bartow has been named FSU football’s director of high school relations.

FSU football has hired Sabbath Joseph as a defensive analyst.

FSU beach volleyball has unveiled its 2021 schedule. The Seminoles open the season on Feb. 27 against Southern Mississippi as part of the Seminole Beach Bash.
