It’s hump day, Florida State fans.

As your week heads downhill, catch up on the latest in FSU athletics. Here is our daily rundown.

Lead Story

After an 11-0 fall season and ACC championship, Florida State finally sits atop the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The Seminoles moved up one spot from No. 2 to No. 1 on Tuesday. Two days prior, FSU capped the fall season with a 3-2 victory over previous No. 1 North Carolina for the ACC Championship.

North Carolina and FSU had been No. 1 and No. 2 since the release of the first poll on Sept. 22. The Seminoles shut out eight of their 11 opponents this year and knocked off six teams that are currently ranked.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving will begin the Georgia Invite on Wednesday.

News and Notes

Florida State swimmers Jenny Halden and Peter Varjasi were named the ACC Swimmers of the Week.

FSU men’s tennis has signed Alex Bulte, the No. 1 ranked junior in Australia and the 144th ranked player by the ITF.

Former Auburn forward Erin Howard was granted immediate eligibility to play this season for FSU women’s basketball.

FSU soccer redshirt senior Clara Robbins was named the TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Week for her performance in the ACC Tournament.
