The Daily Nole — Jan. 10, 2019: Francois Confirms Return to FSU

Lead Story

After enrolling in classes at Florida State earlier this week, quarterback Deondre Francois has confirmed that he will return for his redshirt senior year.

The 2016 ACC Rookie of the Year, Francois started 11 games for the Seminoles this season after suffering a season-ending patella tendon tear in the 2017 opener against Alabama. As a redshirt junior, Francois passed for 2,731 yards and 15 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions. He also rushed for three scores.

Francois is likely to be in a quarterback competition in 2019 with James Blackman. Louisville transfer Jordan Travis is the only other scholarship quarterback on the roster.

FSU basketball defeated Miami on Wednesday night, 68-62.

FSU men’s tennis will open the season with Mercer and Georgia Southern on Thursday. FSU swimming and diving hosts Incarnate World.
